Introducing Our New Privacy Report
We are thrilled to introduce the latest improvements to Trackingplan’s Privacy Report! This enhancement is designed to help you ensure the privacy of your customers and avoid legal violations by providing a clear, organized view of the data your site collects and shares.
What’s New
Organize Data by Sensitivity Level
Our updated Privacy Report categorizes data based on its sensitivity level, allowing you to focus on the most critical privacy issues while managing less sensitive information efficiently. Here's what you can expect:
Highly Sensitive Personal Information
Refers to critical user data that can lead to serious risks such as fraud, identity theft, discrimination, or precise individual tracking.
These are the elements that Trackingplan considers highly sensitive. If marked in green, as shown in the example below, it indicates that there are no privacy issues and no sensitive data forwarded inappropriately.
Sensitive Personal Information
Refers to data that can identify an individual and their residence, posing privacy invasion risks or allowing access to personal accounts.
Trackingplan will identify the following elements as sensitive. For instance, the report might flag issues with specific elements such as Home Address and Token, indicating potential privacy concerns.
For each flagged issue, Trackingplan will provide you with detailed information to help you quickly address and resolve non-compliant data practices:
- Affected Property or User Attribute: Details about the flagged data, with samples.
- Provider Information: Identifies the provider to which the data was forwarded.
- Occurrence Graph: Visual representation of the issue's frequency.
- Explanatory Text: Explanation of the problem and potential implications.
Additionally, you can also access Trackingplan’s Data Explorer for further investigation. On the other way around, ff you determine an issue is not relevant or critical, you can mute it. Muting an issue changes its status to green, indicating it is resolved or no longer a concern.
General Information
Refers to general data that, while not typically compromising individual privacy, is still worth monitoring.
Trackingplan will also identify and label here some general data that might not be sensitive on its own but might still be worth monitoring. However, by clearly distinguishing this type of data taking into account the varying degrees of sensitivity and potential privacy risks, Trackingplan helps you focus your attention on more critical privacy issues, ensuring that less sensitive information is managed efficiently without unnecessary concern.
Why This Matters
The enhanced Privacy Report helps you:
- Ensure Compliance: Easily identify and address privacy issues to avoid legal violations.
- Focus on Critical Issues: Prioritize attention on highly sensitive data while managing less critical information efficiently.
- Streamline Data Management: Utilize detailed reports and visual aids to understand and resolve data privacy issues quickly.
