Which vendors receive the email hash?
Three by design, one by accident. Meta CAPI receives em on 39% of purchases, Google Ads enhanced conversions on 58%, TikTok sha256_email on 41% — all after consent, all hashed on the server. Klaviyo receives the plain email as your first-party ESP, which is expected.
The accident is Hotjar: since Tuesday’s release it receives the hashed email as a session attribute on /account, 2,140 sessions so far. Hotjar isn’t in your consent purposes for identifiers, and it doesn’t need it. The change came with the new account page template.
Are we sending the same purchase value to every ad platform?
You’re not. Meta receives value with shipping and tax included; Google Ads and TikTok get it without — an 8.4% gap on every conversion since the CAPI mapping changed on the 12th. Your ROAS numbers aren’t comparable across platforms, and Meta’s bidding has been optimizing on higher values than the rest.
