Your Data, Your Rules

November 30, 2025

Forget about complex regex or static functions. We’ve introduced interactive Event Rules: a flexible way to create and manage conditions tailored to your needs.

What's New

Event Rules introduce an interactive, no-code way to define the exact conditions your events must meet:

- Create new rules or edit existing ones to define exactly what “passing” looks like for your events.

- Validate event values, parameter formats, and business-specific conditions.

- Receive warnings when real user data stops matching your defined rules.

Why it matters

Analytics implementations evolve constantly. Parameter structures change, new business logic is introduced, and data quality requirements differ across teams. Moreover, hard-coded validations—or relying solely on specifications—often fall short when real user data starts drifting from expectations. That’s why having interactive, no-code Event Rules let you adapt validations on the fly, ensuring your tracking stays accurate and aligned with your business needs.

How it helps

  • Gives you full control over what “correct tracking” means for your business.
  • Helps detect data drift, unexpected values, or business-logic breaks early.
  • Reduces dependency on engineering or Trackingplan's Customer Support to maintain validation logic (though you can always count on us!)
  • Allows teams to adapt rules quickly when rolling out new features, experiments, or campaign structures.
