Pixel Presence Monitoring

💡
Pixel errors are common, failing easily and invisibly, and leading to increased costs and decreased conversions. That’s why Trackingplan allows you to stay on top of all the pixels used in your frontends to be automatically alerted whenever a pixel is gone from a page of your site or is completely offline.

By automatically warning you whenever a pixel disappears on the landings you’re sending traffic to, you can get it fixed before it affects your performance, ensuring you’re measuring it correctly to optimize ROAS and gain strategic insights for your next marketing strategies.

image

This is useful for answering things like:

🤔 How many pixels or trackers do we have on our site?

🤔 On which pages are they triggering?

🤔 Has the Facebook Ad Conversion Pixel been removed from this landing in the last release?

🤔 Are all my pixels working in all countries?

Moreover, you’ll also be able to see and inspect your Pixels as a destination.

Here are some of the tabs you’ll see in there:

  • Overview tab: Gain a clear view of the performance of your analytics and marketing pixels. This tab provides a complete record of all warnings —both ongoing and historical—associated with your pixels. Use this to quickly identify issues that could impact data quality or marketing campaign performance.
  • Pixels tab: This tab lists all the pixels Trackingplan has automatically discovered in your frontends.
  • Properties tab: Dive deeper into the specific properties tracked by each pixel, such as event parameters or custom attributes, ensuring essential properties like transaction_id or product_id are consistently captured across all pixels.
  • Metrics tab: Explore detailed metrics related to your pixels' performance and behavior. These metrics can include the number of events sent, success rates, or discrepancies in data transmission (e.g.: Monitor the number of page_views sent by each pixel and ensure they match expected traffic volumes).
  • KPIs tab: Track the key performance indicators (KPIs) that matter most to your business. This tab helps you monitor critical data points and ensure your tracking aligns with business goals.
☝🏻

By treating Pixels as a destination, you can set up traffic warnings to monitor their performance. These alerts will notify you if any pixel stops receiving traffic entirely or if the traffic exceeds or falls below a specified threshold, ensuring you catch potential issues early. You also have the option to set traffic warning tolerances, giving you control over how sensitive the alerts should be.
