Post-Install Warm-Up

After installing Trackingplan, our algorithm will automatically start discovering and documenting all the traffic you’re sending to all your analytics, product, and marketing stack.

It’s your time to sit back as we automatically create your dashboard. But what does this process exactly involve?

👇🏻
Not in the mood to read? Perfect, we made a video that explains it all. Let’s see what happens after Trackingplan’s installation.

Post-Install Essentials: A Guide to Next Steps

To better understand what happens after the installation, Trackingplan introduces three different states to help you identify which specifications are being enforced and provide you with a better understanding of the logic behind type and presence specifications in your properties.

1. Warm-Up Phase

During this initial warm-up process, Trackingplan's algorithm will observe your events' traffic behavior and analyze the specifications associated with each of your properties.

This serves as a learning phase for Trackingplan to collect all the necessary data to understand what each piece of data means, identify patterns, detect anomalies, and automatically connect dots to create value from data that was hidden in plain sight.

During this phase, no traffic warnings will be issued to prevent you from any false alarms, as Trackingplan’s algorithm will be learning from your data and traffic patterns.

However, Trackingplan also applies event and property specifications recommended by your Analytics services and your Marketing tools, triggering Recommended Specs Warnings if these requirements aren’t correctly implemented in your sites or apps. As these warnings don’t rely on a learning phase, this means that, during this time, Trackingplan will be able to deliver early specification warnings.

By now, Google Analytics 4 Recommended Events, Meta Standard Events, and TikTok Parameters and Standard Events are supported, with more coming soon. Contact support to let us know which tool you’d like to see next.

2. Learnt by Trackingplan

After the warm-up phase, Trackingplan will automatically interpret the data type and presence expected for each of your properties based on its analysis.

3. Set by User: Getting into Action

In this phase, you, as the user, have the flexibility to make as many manual adjustments as necessary to the type and presence constraints inferred by Trackingplan. Simply click the dropdown and select the specific constraint to tailor it according to your requirements.

Moreover, the rest of your team will be able to easily see who made the change and when it was done to collaborate more efficiently and undo any changes if necessary.

4. Set by Trackingplan’s Support Team

Finally, you’ll also be able to easily identify if Trackingplan’s Support Team has stepped in to assist you with any complex configurations or fine-tuning to ensure your data tracking is always optimized and aligned with your specific needs.

You can also see who edited your specs while exploring your warnings through your Warning Management View. This will allow you to stay on top of changes and keep your team in sync with just a glance!
