Customize Warnings

💡
Trackingplan will always propose predefined alerts based on your business type. However, you can also configure alerts to ensure you receive warnings only when the conditions you specify are met.

Doing this will allow you to customize the traffic threshold at which your traffic warnings trigger, deactivate specific warning types or providers, or set tolerance percentages.

You can customize alerts individually for specific events (Customize Warnings) or globally (Settings).

For specific events & properties

If you want to set a warning for a specific event or property, navigate to it and click on Customize Warnings.

Doing this will show you the current warning settings for only that specific event or property.

Trackingplan provides customizable traffic warning tolerances for Traffic Drops and Traffic Peaks using the following levels:

  • Low (Strict): By setting a low tolerance, warnings will be triggered at the slightest variation, making it ideal for monitoring critical events.
  • Medium (Default): Offers balanced monitoring, reducing the risk of false positives while maintaining reliable alerts.
  • High (Lenient): By setting a high tolerance, warnings will only be triggered in extreme cases, minimizing disruptions. Ideal for less critical events, such as optional user interactions, where variations are less significant.

These tolerance levels are also available for KPI Warnings and Platform Metric Warnings, allowing you to control how sensitive your anomaly detection is across your most important business indicators. By default, the tolerance for these is set to low (strict), but you can adjust it at any time to suit your needs.

☝🏻

If these default tolerance levels do not meet your needs, you can always request custom tolerances tailored to your requirements. To enable this feature, simply contact our support team.

You also have the option to Customize your Warnings individually through your Warning Management View. To do this, just click on the icon shown below.

For your entire tracking plan

You also have the option to edit the warning settings for all your events (that is, your entire tracking plan), by navigating to the Warnings section in your Settings.

Here, you’ll also be able to adjust a global trigger threshold by selecting low, medium, or high tolerance levels.
